Let Them Eat Wedding Cake Balls

Wedding Cake Balls

History might have been changed if Marie Antoinette had only known about cake balls! These tasty little morsels of confectionery genius are all the rage, and why shouldn’t they be? They are the perfect pairing of cake and frosting combined in an exact ratio and encircled by a delicate coating: beautiful, bite sized, and blissful!

Wedding Cake Balls

When it comes to weddings, times are changing. Who says you have to stick to tradition? Serve cake balls to your guests for a fun twist. Display them as part of a candy bar, use them as the groom’s cake, or (hold on to your bouquets and garters) use them as your wedding cake. I was recently asked to create these beautiful autumn inspired cake balls for wedding. The couple chose to serve their guests cake balls instead of the traditional wedding cake. They can be displayed in any number of ways. Go for the unexpected and create a cake ball cake. Use beautiful platters at different levels to create a gorgeous table scape. For this couple, we used a pretty wrought iron stand with metal baskets to create their gorgeous dessert table. Cake balls can be made to go with the wedding theme and colors or to express the personalities of the bride and groom. The sky is the limit!

Bride and Groom Cake Ball Favors

Cake balls also make delicious wedding favors for the guests. Little bride and groom cake balls in clear boxes tied with colored ribbons add to the centerpieces and create a tasty little tidbit for your guests to take home (if they make it to the car that is).

So have fun with it! It’s your big day; express yourself, enjoy every minute, and create memories for a lifetime…..and most of all, “Let them eat cake” cake balls that is!
